Another Notebook from the Tree of Life Set from Sin City Stamps

I love this set of trees from all leafed out to ready for Halloween!  I bought these really really bright note cards thinking of course that I could use them in some way and ah ha! here it is!  I made another little quick and easy journal/notebook to grab on the way out of the door going to the beach or a festival or bird watching and make my notes on the way home!  The set is Tree of Life 11.

A nice little clip holds it all together with some additional stamping from the Journal Two Set from Sin City Stamps!

Each tree has his own page with some words to keep me motivated to take notes and photos!

I cut some contrasting colors and stamped with the Journal Two Set to make pockets so slip memorabilia in such as ticket stubs and goodies I always find!

Some Sin City Stamps and Tongue Depressor Play

I saw this over a year ago and have wanted to give it a try but only remember when I am in the doctor's office and see his nice wide tongue depressors!  Well, short of lifting a few, I bought some narrower ones from the dollar tree but have found the wide ones at a pharmacy in town so next time more room to work on!  So with tongue in cheek and Sin City Stamps in hand I embarked on a year long awaited journey!

Some Distress Inks I have wanted for ages Mermaid Lagoon, Fossilized Amber in the mini set were not disappointing at all!

My motto "I color outside the lines!"

Grand Opening of LeighSBDesigns!

Fabulous weekend for the art world with the grand opening of LeighSBDesigns!  Our own Leigh S-B is creating some spectacular digital stamps and will be continuing to add to her collection for sale on Etsy every 3 days until her store is full!  So set your fun clocks for every 3 days to see what is new and run now to the LeighSBDesigns Fan Group for the freebies waiting for you right now!  Here is a sample of the Whimsical Steampunk Easter Bunny that can be found in the Etsy Store that I did an acrylic background and used Spectrum Noir Markers for the bunny!

He will be making a reappearance when I can find my missing die cut machine!  Gremlins in the studio again ugh!  But what a elegant, distinguished bunny he is!

Thanks so much to Leigh for the opportunity to be a designer for her on her design team!  This is my first official project and so very excited for my friend on her new exciting journey!

It is time for our April challenge at Dragons Lair Designs Challenge Blog and the theme is
Anything Goes" with a twist of "Wedding".  I went a little rouge on this one using Sir Hiss and his wedding cake for my twist!  Sir Hiss was our coloring challenge for March and we have another one started for April!  You ask for the image, get the image, and make a project and upload to the album on the Fan page!  So double for the information on this blog post!

I colored him up with Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut him and the cake out.  I then used a die to cut the word "lifetime" to express his everlasting love for his Mrs. Hiss!

Now that you have had a look at this inspiration blog post why don't you visit some of the other areas in the Dragons Lair Designs family of sites:

We'd love to have you join us in our Fan Group and post up some pictures of any creations you make using any DLD items.

A Journal Page of a 1960's Girl with Sin City Stamps!

I loved this journal page although it started off rocky with my gelatos leaving marks!  But some Nuance powders righted the ship and although not crazy about the stencil color I choose and how it showed up overall I really like this!

I used my own elements for my whimsy girl, the cat reading :), the sentiment and the year!  A good year for wine and older ladies???
The awesome texture stamps are by Seth Apter and are Billboards Cling Rubber Set!  I can't wait to showcase them in their own project but I wanted my hippy chick to have lots of texture and fun going on so they did a fabulous job!
The stamps are from Sin City Stamps of course! and the elements come from a sheet called Fairy Tale Fantasy Figures.
Painted with acrylic paint watered down so the details could come through and the girl and ensemble colored with Spectrum Noir Markers with "explore" and "adventure" die cuts from Tim Holtz.  Words of affirmation come from the stamp sheet!  Great way to get any young girl or lady's self-esteem healthy and strong!

Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Challenge #34 "Black and White"

Ok, let's get ready for March's challenge at the The Lost Coast Portal to Creativity   and the theme is Black and White!  Really easy if you think about it so think about it then get those entries into us for a chance to win a chance at some stamps!  I wanted to use the Gibson Girl's Faces set because using black and white made me think of elegance.

I used a stencil from the Artist's Cellar and modeling paste from Liqutex over a piece of  black sparkly fabric.  The some black Distress Ink after the paste dried.  I stamped the girl's faces and fussy cut and glued; I wrapped some of the same black fabric and added a spare junk earring and a label holder.  I used the Party Words set from Lost Coast Designs Stamps  to stamp the sentiment.

I sure hope you will be joining us for this challenge!  I can't wait to see what fabulous things you make to show us!  And as always you can find all the good stuff at The Lost Coast Portal to Creativity  so visit us often so you don't miss out on anything!
